This Information will help you plan your New Zealand Hunt with us.

Hunts

for most species run from March through to September, starting with stag bow hunts in March and April, and continuing with tahr and all other big game to the end of August. We can organize hunts for you all throughout the year in New Zealand, Australia, Africa, America and Canada.

Our Aim

is to provide you with the most cost-effective, safe but successful guiding service that are second to none and we do this through our hunt packages. We aim to be consistently good as opposed to being the biggest or the best, and in the friendliest way possible to deliver client satisfaction aimed to exceed expectations.

Your Destination

will most likely be the South Island of New Zealand, known as the "Sportsman's Paradise" and is now fast becoming the Adventure Capital of the World. The best way to describe New Zealand is that "it's like rolling all the best features of America into California and taking out all the people".

Air Travel:

We can work with Air New Zealand through our North American Agent, Jackie Keith of Esplanade Travel, 1 800 628 4893 or Info@esplanadetravel.com and other major carriers to handle all your ticketing requirements from your hometown. You are allowed two pieces of checked baggage, maximum 50 lbs. each, including gun or bow case which has to be locked. You are permitted one carry-on, in addition to a small purse or briefcase. If you pack a laptop in your carry-on, be prepared to remove it for inspection at security checkpoints.

Passport and Visitor's Permit

A Passport is required of all clients coming to New Zealand. This includes young children.

Clients coming to New Zealand can enter on a waiver system without a visa but you are required to fill out a visitor's permit upon your arrival in New Zealand. You can also come in on a visa, which you need to get from the New Zealand Embassy in your State however we recommend the waiver system.

Arrivals

You will be met in Christchurch at the airport terminal by your guide outfitter, where he and his team will return you after your hunt.

Accommodation

May be at a selection of lodges, motels, farm stays, and/or cottages which contain a number of guest rooms some with shared bathrooms. All the rooms are heated and come with fresh linen. The food is western (Kiwi) home-style including desserts, lots of fresh vegetables and not to forget both domestic and wild game meat. Soft drinks, wine and beer are included, however if you require hard liquor this can be brought at duty free or at the local liquor store on the way to the lodge.

GUARANTEE

With all our packages we will make every effort to provide you with the best value hunt possible. We have designed these hunts with friendly, reliable, personal service, giving you the best opportunity of success as we do wish for you to return. That is why this hunt comes with our "guarantee". That is if you are unable to take a Red Stag or Bull Tahr, then you can return for a free hunt and just pay a trophy fee.

Accident Insurance

is available for everyone in New Zealand, whether they are residents or visitors, and they are covered by the Accident and Rehabilitation Corporation. This legislation covers the majority of medical costs incurred in the event of an accident. However clients are advised to have their own medical insurance in the event of an unexpected illness.

Tipping

Tipping is not customary as you travel within New Zealand.

Payments

Deposit of 50% of the package price per person is required to hold a particular booking date. There is no refund policy other than we take each situation on its own merits, so we recommend taking out insurance for air travel and the hunt.

Balance to be paid in NZ before commencement of your hunt with any other payments to be made at the end of your hunt in full. We accept personal, checks, wire transfers and cash, but not credit cards.
